Hi! My name is Rob Shindler and I'm not much of a hobbyist. I don't play golf, tennis or dance very well! My skills lie in being a husband, father and lawyer. I've been practicing law for over three decades and have seen countless teenagers make the same missteps which drastically altered the course of their lives.
That's why I wrote "Sex, Drugs, Etc. Etc. Etc." - a book filled with real stories of young people, within a 25-mile radius of each other, whose lives were forever changed by their decisions. These stories show that it can happen anywhere and to anyone.
My focus has now shifted from simply taking on new cases and appearing in court to making a broader impact. I want to empower the young generation. Many parents assume that these lessons are being taught at school or at home, but unfortunately, that is not always the case. Principals are hesitant to discuss sensitive issues with their students, while parents may be uncomfortable having these conversations at home. As a result, these important topics, such as statutory rape, domestic abuse, drug possession, alcohol and the consequences of using fake IDs, are often ignored.
It's time to give these issues a voice in an intelligent, lighthearted, and humorous way. My goal is not to tell people what to do, but rather what not to do. Let's bring these important conversations to the forefront and make a positive change together.

Although not a parent myself,
I LOVE this book. As the aunt of two twin teenage nieces, I found the stories absolutely invaluable. This is a must read for anyone who loves
or knows a teenager. We read it together and have discussed similar situations they face at school and with their friends. I love these girls
like they were my own and sleep a little better knowing they have this new education. I'm also now known as the coolest aunt in the family!
Wow!!! So powerful. And I can't lie, a little scary. This book is filled with answers and ammunition on how to survive in today's teenage world
After finishing the first chapter, I rushed into our son’s room and hugged him for twenty minutes. I didn’t want to let go.
If you don’t think it can happen to your family, you’re wrong. My brother an A-student spent a year in jail. I wish he had this book before everything happened.
Frighteningly Honest.
As a high school teacher I pledge to campaign to have “Sex, Drugs, Etc. Etc. Etc.” be a must read for every student in our building.
I’m an educated man and father of 6 who thought I knew a lot about a lot. Boy was I wrong. I had no clue about some of the trouble my kids could find out there. Dads, pick up a copy of this book, pick up a pizza and sit down with your kids on the couch and read every word together.
I am a high school sophomore who just moved to a new school. It is tough making new friends. I started doing things I knew were wrong but got me into a cool group. My parents made me read this book. I didn’t want to at all but I am really glad I did because I think I could have been heading for big problems. If you are at new school or just have some questions, get your parents to get you a copy of sex drugs etc.
A roadmap for teenagers in today’s America.
Rob Shindler has represented our family for over twenty-five years. He is no longer just our lawyer. He is part of our family. My wife and I, my brothers and sister in laws, our kids and other relatives all have his cell phone number plugged into ours. Whenever or whatever we may face he is our guy!
I just finished a case we were fighting for over four years. Everyone, including myself, the prosecutor and the judge were getting tired of it all. Except my lawyer. Rob doesn’t get tired. Ever. He is like one of those mosquitoes in the summer that don’t stop coming at you. No matter how much you swat or spray, he just keeps coming.
Three Decades of Lawyering. Please don’t stop, Rob!!!!
This person is a walking heart .
I had heard a lot of horror stories about attorneys who took your money and then forgot your name. So it was very difficult to choose a lawyer when my son was arrested. Every one I called started talking about how much money it would cost us before even knowing anything about our son. Until Robert. At first to be honest he didn’t seem real. But thankfully he was. My son just graduated college and is getting married in the summer. Not sure any of this happens for him if I didn’t walk into that office on Van Buren St.
No gray area to being honorable. That’s what he said in our first interview. That’s how he treated me and my case the whole time. Rob walks the walk.
Like having a raincoat in the rain!
He may charge a lot but he is worth a lot.
I had a speeding ticket in 1989 that Rob Shindler handled for me. 25 years later he represented me on a serious felony case. He treated that speeding ticket with the same passion and intensity as he did the felony.
He talks to you, not at you.
I think I was one of Robs first clients ever. He was my lawyer when I was a single guy in my 20s. Then after I got married & had kids. And now as a grandfather. I do not plan on that ever changing.
When my mother died, Mr. Shindler was one of the first people to call me to say he was sorry. He had just lost his own mom and we spent over a half and hour sharing stories about our moms.
Lawyers on tv advertise they are available 24/7. Which we know is a bunch of $&!%. Not with this guy. Last year when I was arrested at 2 in the morning, he picked up.
Families have family doctors. Families should also have family lawyers, we do. Rob Shindler is our family’s lawyer.
